Physical mobile interaction, the interaction between mobile devices and physical objects, is an increasingly popular research area with various published studies. This paper provides an introduction to the concept of physical mobile interaction, its techniques and supporting technologies for its realization. Among the supporting technologies, mobile RFID technology is examined closer. Consequently, applications are categorized as public, private and business applications based on mobile RFID applications in the relevant literature. Business applications are classified as in-house, B2B and B2C applications. The study focuses on B2C applications that mobile advertising, product ordering, service ordering and mobile payment are assigned. Finally, the advantages of using mobile RFID for the mentioned B2C activities (e.g. enhanced CRM, seamless B2C processes) are analyzed. This study contributes to the limited studies about the analysis of B2C applications of mobile RFID and especially to the commercial advantages of these applications for enterprises.
