dc.description.abstractThe regime of participation in acquired property, which is the statutory marital property regime in Turkish Civil Code No. 4721, brings many questions with respect to inheritance law. While in the old law period due to the separation of property regime the death of one spouse caused less problems for dissolution of property regime, in the new law period both the disposals in lifetime and the modifications on property regime made by the spouses may lead to diverse problems with regards to not only dissolution of property regime but also inheritance law. the purpose of this study is to reveal the relation between the spouses' modifications on property regime, disposals in lifetime and inheritance law, demonstrate the possible controversies and - if possible - present possible solutions.
