"Batının Çöku?şu?" adlı eserinde insanlık tarihini, farklı zamanlarda hatta bazen eş zamanlı hu?ku?m su?ren bireysel ve yu?ksek ku?ltu?rler olarak özetlemektedir. Bu yu?ksek ku?ltu?rler nedensel ve organik tanımlara dayanmaktadır. Yu?ksek ku?ltu?rler birbirini etkilemeden, tarihsel ve ku?ltu?rel gerçeklerin periyodik tekrarları ile döngu?sel bir tarih yazımını tanımlamaktadır. Ku?ltu?rler, uygarlık evrelerine ulaştığında çu?ru?mekte ve yok olmaktadırlar. Bu teoriye göre Batı bir çöku?ş ile karşı karşıyadır. Mevcut tez çalışması, Spengler'in temel teorilerini özetlemekte ve tu?m ku?ltu?rlerin nasıl inşa edildiğine, geliştiğine, uygarlıklara dönu?ştu?ğu?ne ve tabi olarak gördu?ğu? kaçınılmaz sonlarının ölu?mle sonuçlandığına dair modelleri ve teorileri açıklamaya çalışmaktadır. Böylece Spengler'in terimleri tanımlanmıştır. 20. yu?zyılın son evrensel tarihçisi olarak kabul edilen Arnold J. Toynbee gibi du?şu?nu?rlere de yer verilmektedir. Toynbee de döngu?sel bir ku?ltu?r ve tarih felsefesini savunmaktadır ve "A Study of History" adlı kitapları ile Spengler'in çalışmalarını genişletmektedir. Her iki eser de ku?ltu?rlerin gelişimine ve etkisine döngu?sel yaklaşım ve uygarlığın ilerlemesinden kaynaklanan ku?ltu?rel çöku?ş hakkında iki bakış açısı sunmaktadır. Bu nedenle iki eser karşılaştırılarak irdelenmiştir. Araştırma sorusu özellikle "ku?ltu?r transferi" açısından analiz edilmiştir. Spengler'in teorilerinin heterojen ku?ltu?rler arasındaki ku?ltu?rel özellikleri benimseme su?recinin var olup olmadığı u?zerinde çalışılmıştır.The aim of this master's thesis was to analyze Oswald Spengler's work "The Decline of the West" and to examine it with regard to a possible cultural transfer. Spengler, one of the most important historians, thinkers and philosophers of the 20th century, attracted attention with his ideas and approaches. In his main work, he assumes that the history of mankind is characterized by eight different high cultures that exist parallel or successively in time, passing through uniform stages of development. These are to be understood as self-contained, organic entities and are characterized by a constant growth and decay. The idea of a mutual influence or exchange between cultures, was denied by Spengler. If they have reached the stage of civilization, they are in their final phase and thus in inevitable decline. Spengler's approach is directed against a linear understanding of world history and steady progress. This thesis summarizes Spengler's elementary theories and attempts to present the models that describe cultures in their construction, development and decay. Central concepts are defined and Spengler's sources of inspiration, such as Hegel, are illustrated. Arnold J. Toynbee, also an important philosopher of history and a proponent of cultural cycle theory, expands Spengler's work with his books "A Study of History". For this reason, both approaches were compared diachronically to present two views of the cyclical approach. The research question "Does the West still decline?" was considered in particular from the point of view of "cultural transfer." It was investigated whether or not, contrary to Spengler's theories, the process of assimilation of cultural peculiarities between heterogeneous cultures exist.
